Bed Bug Prevention

Preventing Bed Bugs Can Definitely be Easier than Treating for Bed Bugs once You Have an Infestation.

I will outline a few things you should do to prevent bed bugs and stop them from hitchhiking with you back to your home from a hotel visit or bringing them with you to work from a hotel or your home etc.

The number one way to get a bed bug infestation is to stay or visit a hotel room that has bed bugs in it.

Most people bring the bed bugs home with them in their luggage and clothing during a hotel stay.

Common sense is to limit where your bags are kept during your hotel stay and monitor where your clothing is kept in the hotel room.

The biggest key is to inspect your hotel room BEFORE you put any bags in there. Leave your bags in the hallway or the bathroom. Bed bugs do not do slick surfaces.

What to do first:

  • Start by pulling the sheets back fully. Look for bed bugs, bed bug larvae, brinish colored fecal stains left behind from the bed bugs. (see images below)

  • Also, pull up the mattress and completely look under it for any sign of bed bugs or their remnants.

  • Now if you have a flashlight, look behind the headboard, bed frames, under the bed including the box springs for bed bug evidence.

This will be a good initial start to being aware of a potential bed bug infestation BEFORE you bring in your suitcases and bags.

Now that you have inspected the bed, it should be relatively safe to bring in your bags at this point.

ALWAYS DO THESE THINGS TO PREVENT BED BUG HITCHHIKERS FROM GETTING IN YOUR BAGS AND CLOTHING!

Keep your clothes in a sealed plastic bag 100% of the time while staying in a hotel room or questionable place.

Use Bed Bug Patrol Bed Bug Repellent around your bedding to prevent the bed bug bites and infestation.

Use Bed Bug Patrol Bug Luggage Spray to prevent and kill any possible bed bugs from riding with you home in your luggage.

Any dirty clothes should be put into a plastic bag and NEVER left on the floor to prevent infection of your clothes.

You may consider putting your entire luggage in a plastic bag during your hotel stay.

Use Bed Bug Patrol Bed Bug Traps under each bedpost to ensure any bed bugs living elsewhere in the room are captured before they reach you.

Wash ALL of your clothes on the highest hot water setting and dry the same when you immediately get home from a hotel stay. Dispose of the plastic bag immediately in the trash can outside of your home.

Doing these key tips will help prevent a bed bug disaster from invading you and your family's home.

What are people saying about Bed Bug Patrol?

"I had a chance to use this a couple of days ago. I had been sick and had not kept up on my spraying every couple of days to keep them away. I previously used a different brand. When I check, there they were again! I used this and after 3 days they are still gone! It works, smells good, and the pump actually works (it doesn't on other ones I've bought). The booklet they included with the purchase was very informative and helpful as well. I highly recommend this product."

“I was really surprised!! There really is NO CHEMICAL smell and when using this product along with mattress covers the problem seems to be taken care of. I never felt as though there were harmful chemicals...it actually smells good! I have already suggested this product to others."

- Monique M.

“Naturally I freaked out when I found bed bugs. I called two exterminators, received estimates of $1,700-$2,650 which I would have paid until I started researching other methods and saw the reviews on this product. Vacuumed thoroughly, sprayed as directed, encased box spring and mattress. Repeated vacuum and spray a week later. So far so good!!"

- Debra C.

“This stuff works great for various types of insects, especially bugs, kills them quick! It has an overwhelming peppermint smell, which is great compared to any other type of poison. Has not affected my animals at all. Great product!!"
