What Are Bed Bugs?
Bed bugs are small, flat, wingless insects with six legs that, like mosquitoes, feed on blood from people or animals. They range in color from almost white to brown, but they turn rusty red after feeding. The common bed bug doesn't grow much longer than 0.2 inches (0.5 centimeters) and can be seen by the naked eye by the astute observer. Bed bugs get their name because they hide in the mattress or box spring folds. Bed bugs can also hide in floors, furniture, frames, knick-knacks, curtains, outlets... pretty much anywhere.
