Bed Bugs On Dogs?
February 20, 2019
Bed bugs originally fed on bats in caves, and when the cavemen arrived, they hopped onto the bigger meal. They prefer feeding on human blood, and aren't we lucky?
The good news is that our fur babies are safe from being jumped, unlike fleas or ticks, which prefer our pets. Due to the fur, a bed bug will rarely be found on a dog or cat. The bed bug doesn't have the capability of navigating through their fur.
As I wrote in another blog, they now have Bug Sniffing dogs to locate an infestation in homes, hotels, public buildings, buses, trains, airplanes, and schools.
While bed bugs are not fond of an animal's fur, they do enjoy a good headboard, bed frame, box springs, and, of course, our mattresses. Our Bedbug Store products can treat all those areas.
