Bed Bugs Don't Care Who You Are They Love You Anyway
Kyrie Irving Receives Apology from Hilton Hotels for Bed Bugs

After a rough night at Oklahoma City's Skirvin Hilton hotel this past weekend due to the presence of bed bugs in his room, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving received an apology from Hilton Hotels Tuesday night.
According to ESPN.com, the company released a statement in response to Irving's revelation that the bed bug situation was responsible for him being limited to just nine minutes in the Cavs' 115-92 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder Sunday: "The comfort of our guests is a top priority, and we are very sorry to hear about Mr. Irving's stay. Since bed bugs can be easily transmitted anywhere and are often lodged in luggage or on clothing, our hotel maintains high levels of vigilance, and we perform regular inspections."
While the Cavaliers listed Irving's ailment as flu-like symptoms, he explained that bed bugs were actually to blame for a poor night's sleep and even some level of physical illness, per ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin:
As you can see, I got (bitten) at the top of my head. It's just like bed bugs and I didn't get any sleep. We came into the game, then I was freaked out, then I started feeling nauseous, so it was just a whole bunch of B.S., honestly.

I got three hours of sleep. Just imagine how freaked out you'd be if you saw friggin' five, big-ass bed bugs just sitting on your pillow. I woke up itching, and I'm just looking around, and I'm like, 'Are you serious right now?' It was 3 a.m., and I was so tired at that point. It was, whatever.
Irving's absence didn't adversely impact the Cavs, as they had little trouble against OKC, and as evidenced by his 30-point performance against the Detroit Pistons on Monday, he appeared to get over the traumatic experience quickly.
Bed bugs aside, the 23-year-old star is enjoying another strong season with averages of 18.8 points and 4.3 assists per game to his credit for the 40-15 Cavs.
While Irving getting ravaged by bed bugs certainly wasn't a positive situation, it did prove that the Cavaliers are capable of handily beating one of the NBA's best teams even without one of its top stars.
Should Cleveland lose Irving, Kevin Love or even LeBron James due to injury for a period of time moving forward, the win in OKC is—at the very least—a game it can look back upon and draw inspiration from.
