“Is it me, or is their bedroom getting further away? It seems like I used to be able to make it from burrow to blood-feast in five minutes flat. Now, it takes ages, and I can barely make it up to the bedpost. Maybe, just this once, I’ll take a shortcut across the kitchen...
The beg bug alters her course, heading toward the open kitchen door.
BED BUG
"Easy there, Penelope. Remember what your Mom taught you last week when you were just a wee nymph, Always stay close to the baseboards where they can't see you!"
The bed bug heads straight for the wall's path and stops short.
BED BUG
"What's this?! I've never seen this strange, white powdery stuff on the floor before."
She reaches out her snout for a little sniff.
BED BUG
“Doesn’t smell dangerous, mostly like old shellfish, but it is blocking my path…”BED BUG
“That settles it. No time to go back around the long way. How dangerous can some dust be? I’ll just run through it really fast and be on my way.”
She scurries through the powder. Small particles cling to her legs, body, and face.

“See? Nothing to be worried about! Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to eat some blood, we goo...
